Cornwall doubles: results

The Cornwall doubles competition saw a storming return by former Great Britain international player Paul Lancaster, back in the region after several seasons away, with partner Simon Penna. The pair, both members of the Treleigh Arms Petanque Society (TAPS), won all their games and rolled out winners of the Skinners Regional Pairs trophy.

Runners-up in the competition, held at the Star Inn, St Day, on Sunday 15 April, were Roy Pemberton and Pete English, both also of TAPS. Pete and Dave Lynas of Trengilly Wartha took third place and Dave and Rosemary Piggin of Tregony PC were fourth. Twelve teams took part.

Winners of the Plate were Kate Herrick (Rising Sun PC) and Paul Rundle (Tregony PC), with last year's doubles winners Graeme Kirkham and Susan Williamson (Tregony PC) scraping a place as runners up.
