Twelve teams took part in the annual Kernow Pétanque charity event, the Reg Daddow Memorial, held at the Star Inn, St Day, on Sunday 28 October. Two teams travelled from Devon and one player from Great Western region to take part.

Overall winners were Simon Penna and Graeme Kirkham, who beat Roy Pemberton and Rob Sullivan 13-8 in the final to take the trophy. The two Devon pairs both reached the semi-finals: Ged and Ann Barton lost to Simon and Graeme 11-13 and John and Rose Thatcher went down to Roy and Rob 9-13.

The plate compettion was won by Lena Daddow and Barbara Brown, who beat Dave and Rosemary Piggin 13-5 in the plate final.

Colin 'Boot' Booth won a short '£1 for six boules' pointing competition and Graeme Kirkham a similar shooting trial. Proceeds from these, with entry fees and a raffle, made possible a donation of £200 from Kernow Pétanque to Macmillan Cancer Support.
