Winter league - one more round to go

No change in the top three places in the winter league since the last round. Still in the top slot are Andrew Jarvis and Roy Pemberton, with 13 wins from 15 games played. In second place are PD and Barney of the North Inn Petanque Club, Pendeen, with 10 wins; they could overtake the leaders in the final round next month - just!

Third, with eight wins from 15, are Simon Penna, Pete English and, making a welcome return to the piste in this round, Sarah Jarvis. Moving up one place since last month, Jock Turnham and Gordon Couch are in fourth place with seven wins, pushing Dave and Rosemary Piggin (six wins) down one to fifth. Graeme Kirkham and Susan Williamson had two wins in this round to make six in total and just hang on to their sixth place.

The two teams in seventh and eighth places both have six wins from from 12 games played: Colin 'Boot' Booth and Ray Beresford of the North Inn just lead from Arnaud Ruetsch and Richard Lapworth. Kate Herrick and Paul Rundle have four wins from nine games played and Robert Herrick and Wendy Booker have three wins from 12.

The final round of the winter league will be played at the Star Inn, St Day, on 3 March.
