2012-13 winter league results

The final round of the Winter League produced no changes in the top four places: Andrew Jarvis and Roy Pemberton, who led almost from the start of the competition, strolled home to take the trophy with 16 wins from 18 games played and a points difference of +103.

Second were Pete 'PD' Downing and Barney Knapp of the North Inn Pétanque Club, Pendeen, with 13 wins (+30) and third Simon Penna and Pete English of the Treleigh Arms Pétanque Society (TAPS) with 10 wins (-15). In fourth place were Gordon Couch and Jock Turnham of the Rising Sun PC, Altarnun, with 8 wins (-24).

Just behind - moving up two places since the previous round and with eight wins from 15 games played (+11) - were Colin 'Boot' Booth and Ray Beresford of the North Inn. (The Winter League rules penalise teams who don't play in every round.) Sixth were last year's winners of the competition, Graeme Kirkham and Susan Williamson of Tregony PC, with seven wins from 18 games (-21).

Another Tregony team, Dave and Rosemary Piggin, were in seventh position, with six wins (-29). Eighth were Richard Lapworth and Arnaud Ruetsch with six wins from 15 games (-11). They again lost out because of missing a round, as did the final two teams: Robert Herrick and Wendy Booker (five wins from 15 games, points difference of -8), and Kate Herrick and Paul Rundle with five wins from 12 games (-18).

The Summer League - open only to Kernow Pétanque members - will be a triples competition and starts on Sunday 28 April.
