Singles champion holds on to title

Repeating his success in last year's competition, Simon Penna (Treleigh Arms Pétanque Society - TAPS) has again taken the trophy for the Cornwall regional Singles competition. But only just: runner-up Colin 'Boot' Booth, from the North Inn, Pendeen, matched him point by point until the last couple of ends, to give Simon the win by 13 points to 11.

In third place was Pete 'PD' Downing (North Inn), who beat Pete Lynas (Tregony PC) 13-1.

The Plate was won by Kernow Pétanque Playing Officer Andrew Jarvis (Vogue PC), who beat Barney Knapp (North Inn) 13-8.

Overall turnout for the event was poor, with only ten players taking part.
