Cornwall open charity petanque event

Kernow Petanque's major charity event of the year, the Reg Daddow Memorial competition, will take place on Sunday 26 October at the Star Inn, St Day. Funds raised will go to Macmillan Cancer Support.

The competition will be an open, doubles contest, with all players welcome to take part. Registration 9.45-10.15; play starts 10.30. £5 per player entry.

In addition to the main doubles competition, there will be pointing and shooting contests during the lunch break, with prizes for the highest scorers. There will also be a raffle: donations of prizes would be very welcome.

Soup will be available in the morning before play starts and food will be available  at lunchtime. The Star will be offering a choice of roast (usually pork, chicken or beef) in a roll (£2.50) or stew and crusty bread (about £5).
