Happiness is warm boules - Petanque in Penzance

Hot sun, balmy breezes, sea views and Penzance's distinctive architecture and exotic vegetation, plus a funfair in full swing, a variety of food stalls and a pub next door, not to mention challenging playing surfaces and good company  - it all added up to another great pétanque event at Penzance's annual Quay Fair Day, part of the town's Golowan festival.
The only downside was the fall-off in interest around 3pm when the England-Germany World Cup game started, although afterwards there were a lot of people who wished they'd carried on playing boules rather than watching the match!

The turnout was one of the best ever, including enough local interest to make more regular pétanque sessions in Penzance though the summer a good possibility. If you are interested, please get in touch through the website.
