Tregony players do well in Cornwall doubles

The Kernow Pétanque 2011 doubles competition was won by Graeme Kirkham and Susan Williamson, both of Tregony Pétanque Club. Eight teams took part in the event, which took place on Sunday 28 August at the Star Inn, Vogue, St Day. This is the third year in a row that Graeme, President of the Cornwall region, has been a member of the winning pair and he and Susan previously won the competition together in 2007.   Runners-up were Robert Herrick of the Rising Sun Pétanque Club, Altarnun, and Mike Hill of Falmouth, another member of the Tregony club.   The Plate competition was won by Andrew and Sarah Jarvis of Truro, also members of Tregony, with Kate Herrick of the Rising Sun club and Paul Rundle of St Austell, another Tregony player, in second place.
